Q about pre-exiting condition for Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance....?

I have not had medical insurance for the past 4-5 yrs, and I went to emergency room, and saw a doctor a few days later (both paid for out of pocket) for acid reflux about 3 years ago...If I sign up for Blue Cross Blue Shield (in NC) will that acid reflux treatment from 3 years ago still count as pre-exiting condition? Thanks!

1. Nope....There look back is only 6 months-1year
2. If you are treating it with over the counter meds or if you haven't had symptoms or treatment for those three years you'll be OK. If you are currently taking prescription medication they'll either rider or consider it pre-existing.
