  1. Humana has a decent reputation and is a very large insurer. If you mean you're responsible for 10%, they cover 90, then that's very good. HOWEVER, with ALL insurance policies what you believe they cover and what they WILL cover are frequently two different things. Do you have a deductible? What are your co-pays? What are your exclusions? caps? etc. Do you have an HMO? Make sure those referrals are done. The wise person is cautious about medical expenses period.
  2. With the cost of health insurance today for the working populace an employer who covers 90% of the cost is doing quite well.
  3. Humana is a great company. This is coming from an agent that doesn't write for them. A plan that pays 90% with 10% co-insurance is a good plan. Of course you need to find out what the stop loss for this plan is. Stop loss is the maximum amount of co-insurance you will pay. My reason for not selling Humana is I do not like their underwriting. Of course it most likely why they have good rates.
  4. Humana is good. 90% is VERY good.

  6. Thank your employer for offering a great plan. This is very good coverage. However, as said previously, look at the deductibles, co-pays, and prescription coverage. Especially be careful for Brand Name prescription co-pays, which are new, and add about $150 or more to the annual cost of getting a brand name drug.
