Have I Maxed Out My Dental Insurance with 2 Root Canals Alone ?
I am not sure about my coverage I will find out tomorrow but I would like an Idea. I have a dental appointment tomorrow and if I have maxed out I will not go! I have 2 dental Insurance a free 1 (Chartered Health) and My Job (Cigna PPO) I used Cigna on 2 root canals in which I paid 236.00 out of pocket 80% covered by Insurance. I need 2 Crowns. Can I use my free Insurance for that ? Is my other insurance maxed out for the year ?

- If you don't know, how can we know? Duh.
- Nobody here would have the foggiest idea. However, it is not unheard of to max out a plan with 2 root canals.
- Most likely yes. Heck, you can max out your dental with just ONE root canal. When you have double coverage, it doesn't stack, it coordinates. If the MAXIMUM benefit for both plans is $1,000 per calendar year, and you hit $1,000, you have no coverage left. Plus, seriously, "Free" dental insurance? No one is going to ACCEPT it, anyway. The only "free" dental insurance is welfare.
- Call the insurance company and ask.
- Most dentists will submit an estimate to your dental company to see what they will pay. If you are unsure if it will cover it or if you maxed out, suggest you wait for those crowns. Otherwise if the dentist does and maxed out, YOU will owe the dentist. good luck
