What is the best way to get health insurance for newborn in Florida for low income family?

My wife and I recently had a baby. She is covered under fathers health insurance. I am not insured. We really just want to get health insurance for the baby, but we don't have much money. Any suggestions?

1. Do they have a state medicaid office so you can sign the child up with the state? Try your nearest state offices like the welfare office.Good luck..
2. usually the hospital wont let u go home without proper insurance, i know when your on parents that the baby is only covered for a month after birth and th ehospitals know this so they would hook u up with emergency health care for the baby.
3. Contact the welfare department. All states have coverage for children of low income families.
