Should I get the Medical travel insurance?Should i get Hep. B, Japanese B encephalitis shots?

I am going for 2 weeks in Jan. 2012( visit my son who is in the Navy) How many much (clothes)should I pack? We are going to just wing it (that's how he puts it) go from Tokyo to Osaka, and few other places. Can I pack a couple bottles of wine? is that allowed? Is my passport all I need?
