What is the typical cost of a root canal with insurance?
I went to the dentist and he said I need a root canal done. I have metlife dental insurance and he quoted me $1360. This seems pricey but I'm not sure.

- It depends on whether it was a general dentist or endodontist (root canal special) and where you live. General dentist in rural america would run about $600 for front tooth, 700 for premolar and 800 for a molar. Add $200 per tooth if it's an endodontist. Add another few hundred if you live in a city. Then there is the crown that you usually need which is another $800-$1000.
