Hey, i'm 17 and i just asked a question about a CT scan and its risk on Brain cancer, and got some really great and helpful answer. Now this leads me to think about this. October last year, i had an avulsion fracture in my anterior illiac (at least thats what i remember the xray report saying, but basically it was in the area around my hip and pelvis) and my doctor told me to immobilize it for 6 weeks ... i did, and my leg still hurt bad, so he said immobilize it again for anothe 6 weeks, i did again, but it kept hurting, and we kept rinsing and repeating for 4 months. so i went to another doctor who suggested that the problem is in the stiff muslces (the ones that pulled the bone and fractured it in the first place) so ive been training my legs but my hip still hurts (even when i lay down in bed i can just feel it hurting) and when i sit down, it feels like im sitting on something in my leg. i dont feel any lumps (maybe cause i dont know what a lump should look/feel like) and i THINK that a small area in my outer thigh is tender, ive had an xray 5 months ago in my left femur and hip that showed nothing but the pain really scares me. Is it worth it to get a CT scan or an MRI in my leg? is the cancer risk in a leg CT or Full body MRI high or significant (i know that the head CT i just took isnt a significant risk but maybe these two tests are different) Please help, this pain really scares me!
