BWI Airport: do you have the option of whether you want the full body scan or the metal detector?

My first question was answered awhile ago, but this is my next one. Do you have the option to go through either the metal detector or do you absolutely have to go through the full body scan? Does it vary with flights lengths? Would I need a full body scan if I was going to florida?

1. I don't get why people are making a big deal about the body scanner, are people worried that some sweaty fat bald guy is looking at blue human shaped blobs on the screen and beating off to it? Even if there was a sweaty fat bald guy beating off while he looks at the blue human shaped blobs, I still wouldn't care.
2. Check the forum at flyertalk.com, since they have details on what machines are used at every checkpoint at every major airport in the country. But most likely, they randomly pick people for the full body scan. If you get picked, you have the right to "opt out" and have a manual pat-down instead.
