Scan Medical Insurance

Can I be under my dad's dental insurance (Delta) even if not living with him?

BEST ANSWER 5 STARS, THANKS! Long story short, my dad just landed a new job & will be getting dental insurance included. We have never had dental insurance & my teeth need help.. I'm 23 & still hanging onto his medical insurance since the Obama health care passed.. Now he'll be getting dental at this new place, but probably moving an hour away (I will stay in the town we're in because of my job nearby). Can I use the Delta insurance even if NOT under same roof? I don't know much yet about how this stuff works.. ALSO, will I be able to hang onto the medical insurance when we don't live together?? I have pre-existing medical condition (crohn's disease) and take meds so it's important to have.. Thank you for the help! Greatly appreciated.

  1. You will be able to stay on the health insurance. However, if the doctor network for the insurance is not available in your town you may have trouble using the policy. Healthcare Reform does not include dental or vision policies. However, many companies, including Delta, are extending the ability for kids to stay on the dental and vision policies. Whether they do in your state and for your dad's employer can only be determined by asking the company.
