What happens with my medical insurance if I move out of state?
My husband and I will be moving out of state soon. I am currently on his medical insurance. We have Blue Cross Blue Shield. If we go to an in-network clinic, the insurance covers 80%. Out-of-network ... 20%. I think the doctors in this new state (moving from the East coast to the West coast) will be considered out of network. Is there a way to get new insurance and stop paying for the old one... or transfer this from one state to the other... Thanks.

- Actually, Blue Cross/Blue Shield has quite a large network provider. I assume this is an individual plan since you didn't mention anything about it being company-paid. If that is the case, call your provider and ask them. Usually, when you change your address with them, you are placed into a new network (if it is a HMO or POS plan). GIve them a call and just ask. They're there to help. Good luck!
