Scan Medical Insurance

I just got 3 mole biopsys...?

I just got three moles removed for testing as a biopsy, im not worried about cancer because im only thirteen, but i am worried about scarring and heeling(btw, the moles are located one by my belly button, and two right on my collar bone on my chest, that are very noticeable, they are all about the size of a pencil eraser)... first, how long will it take to fully heel. second, what can i use to help prevent a scar, there is a cream called duoderm to prevent a scar, but it is very expensive, i am just washing them out 2 times a day with salt water. third is there anything else i should know, i am sure they are not cancerous, i have lots of moles and am very young so my mom took me in to get a full body scan and while i was there we had three biopsy's i am not worried about cancer i just don't want a scar!!!!

  1. You doctor should have given you instruction on how to care for these. Normally, washing with soap and water, patting dry and applying either bacitracin or neosporin antibiotic ointment is common advice and you continue doing this until they are completely healed. Healing takes an average of 2-3 weeks after biopsies and they will always leave a scar. Any time you have something removed, it is an injury to your skin and a scar will be left behind. Over the years, these fade to a lighter color.
