  1. Not yet.
  2. No i don't think you absolutely have to buy insurance.. But it would be a good idea. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about that :) Canada FTW!
  3. No. Only Massachusetts currently requires health insurance.
  4. Nope. Besides your still covered by your parents till 21. Thats what I heard on the news a couple weeks back. Idk if the law took effect though.
  5. It will be a federal requirement to have health insurance but not until January 1, 2014
  6. Not yet, but it will be soon (2014). However, before that happens, the requirement to be a full time student will end, so you will be able to go back on your parents' health insurance.
  7. The only state that currently requires individuals to have health insurance is Massachusetts. The new health reform law will extend that requirement to most other Americans beginning in 2014. Starting in September 2010, however, health reform will allow you to stay on your parents’ health insurance plan until age 26, unless your employer also offers you coverage. Either way, try not to go without coverage. Health insurance does a lot more than get you access to doctors and hospitals. It also protects your financial future from serious medical expenses that could result from an unexpected illness or injury. If you’re unable to stay on your parents’ plan, you may find that individual health insurance is relatively affordable for people who are young and relatively healthy. Work with a licensed agent, online or off, to find out what your options are when the time comes.
