Muliple Myeloma Question.....please help!?

The doctor just told my mom that he thinks she might have bone cancer (and he mentioned multiple myeloma). My mom went in for an xray on Monday and they called her this morning and told her there was subtle abnormalities and wanted to check the protein in her urine and blood. He also wants to do a full body scan. He told her this morning that he thought she might have bone cancer but didn't know anything for sure until he got the results from the urine and blood test. He said that things looked suspicious in both of her hips and that is where she has been having pain. She asked him if it could be anything else and he said yes but didn't tell her what else it could be. Can anyone help me.....I'm pregnant with the first grandchild and it breaks my heart of what might happen. Thank you!

1. It would be very unusual for a doctor to suspect either multiple myeloma or bone cancer as they are not alike. I think someone misunderstood something here. I’m sorry, I’m not sure what your question is.
