What is with the new body scan rules? I'm not sure about them?
I'm going to America in two weeks from Australia, will I have to go through the body scanner? Also what are the laws regarding the body scanner, eg, everyone has to do it? Please let me know. :) I am seventeen.

- You probably have to go through them. Everybody else has to and it may be aukward but would you rather go through that then be on a plane over the ocean with a person with the bomb.
- You can opt-out of the body scanner. But instead of the body scanner, you will get a pat-down. John Pistole, who is the chief of the TSA, says that the body scanners are necessary. Others say it is an invasion of privacy. At the same time, numerous people have complained about the pat-down search being tantamount to being treated like a criminal right from the start. Also it amounting to sexual assault because of agents not complying with the need to have a TSA agent of the same sex do the pat-down on passengers. This has essentially resulted numerous instances of women/men(yes men too) being groped in the name of national security. Also in numerous instances of people with medical conditions being blatantly ignored despite telling TSA agents.
