Full body scan Las Vegas--Richmond Intl(pregnant)?

Planning a trip in the coming weeks and turns out both the airport I am leaving from as well as the one I will be making the return trip from do in fact have body scanners. I realize that since I am pregnant I will not be forced to go through the body scanner(I'm sorry, but I'm not taking my chances with X-rays) but does that mean I automatically have to have the invasive patdown? Has anyone recently flown from Las Vegas Mccarran Airport or Richmond International Airport? Do they still have the metal detectors or does EVERYONE have to go through the new scanners?

1. Not everyone will be going through the scanner. I am however, not sure if it's random by individual or by flight etc... If you are chosen and you refuse, you will be receiving a pat down. That is assured. Good luck.
