ive heard my editorials and family who travel a lot complain about those full body scanners at the air port and i wonder "what the hell is so wrong about it?" and they respond with nonsense.

- I heard they give of alot of radiation and x rays witch are deadly and can cause cancer
- its all bull pappy/everybody wants to get in the act/you get more radiation when your on the plane from natural souces than from those machines/first time some guys underwear blows a plane up from ohare or newark liberty its all over/then everybody shuts up /cant get me on a plane with anybody chanting alla akhbar
- When you get an XRay at your doctors office the technician either wears a lead lined apron or stands behind a lead lined wall and wears a film badge which is checked periodically to see if they have received excessive dosages of XRays. Do you travel frequently? How many times being XRayed from head to toe, in a given amount of time, is dangerous? I have been asked, many times, on medical forms, if I have worked around XRay equipment or had XRay treatments when I was young. Now the government is deciding they can give you a full body XRay on a routine basis when we've been told for years that XRays should not be used excessively.
- Nonsense? Mammograms were supposed to be "safe", and were constantly recommended. There's been a recent change - now they say not to get one unless there is a history in your family. Why? It's suspected to cause breast cancer. Duh, radiation has been causing cancer since before I was born. And I got grandkids. Furthermore, if you trust government set standards based on NO testing, you deserve what you get. And that does NOT include disability on my tax dollar!
- Nothing if you don't mind showing everything you have like you were naked in front of a bunch of people.
- Nothing. The whiners are attention freaks professing the sincerest "Outrage!" everything the wind changes. F*** em.
- Some people don't feel comfortable having someone see them naked. Radiation comes from the scanners. If it makes even just one person uncomfortable; plus the fact that it's dangerous shows that we shouldn't be forced to do this. Unless you want the alternative incredibly invasive pat down, which also must be done on little children. The government shouldn't be allowed to force me to put myself in uncomfortable or dangerous situations.
- Full-body scanners in airports come with privacy concerns and issues, as the images of passengers show TSA officials what someone has under their clothes... The problem is these images is that tens of thousands body scans can be stored on the hard-drive and this is what they should not allow..
- Oh most just want something to complain about so they hopped on this. To those who say radiation I say good for you, you may have a real concern. However most who are asked are basically well the crowd is against it, it's a mob mentality.
