Body scan at the airports.?? ?
Do we have the right to ask not to be scanned at the airports such as O’Hare International Airport ?? Is this option, if there is one, listed anywhere online? I do not like to be scanned.... There is no privacy for women. If you refused to be scanned as a women, what happens?

- james is a womans name? hmmmm... anyway if you aren't a troll i shall answer this: There is no need to be so paranoid. Body scanners are in no way indecent and you do not have to 'strip' for them <.< Btw, if you refuse to do it, you will get a full body pat down, which i think, is much worse.
- You do have the right to refuse a body scan, however, you will be subject to the wand and possibly a full body pat-down. Much more intrusive in my opinion and it takes longer. All images are seen in a room removed from the area that the scan takes place so the screener viewing the xray cannot see what you look like only the image that comes across the monitor. If you are clear of guns, knives or explosives, they will radio the TSA agent that you are cleared to go. IMHO, I would rather be safe on a plane than worry about some TSA agent seeing a my image along with 100,000 images that day. Enjoy your trip!
- I believe they pat you down as a last resort. But, I'm very worried about my 60-something year old mother who had knee replacement surgery a few months ago, and is now probably not going to be able to go through traditional scanners. I don't know if she can go through these new body scanners but I don't want her to! Nor, do I want her patted down. I'm curious to see what other people answer in response to your question.
- i emailed a tsa customer manger about this this is her reply , If you choose not to go through the body scanner, you will need to undergo what is called a standard pat down. Effective October 29, 2010, the TSA has modified its pat down procedure. We no longer use the hand held metal detector. We now use the new standard pat down, which is a bit more intrusive that the secondary screening we have previously used. As always, passengers are entitled to private screening, if they do not wish to be patted down in public view. Please feel free to contact me again, if you have any additional questions.
