Rib bone broken but no pain.?

Try this again. I started to notice a large lump on my back rib bone. It didn't hurt but it started to bother me while sleeping because it was like sleeping on a golf ball. I had it xrayed and they said it was broken. Now they have me going for Bone scan, CAT scan and blood test. But it does not hurt. It showed up on the Bone scan as a big white ball on the full body scan but on the three dimentional image of my chest it showed up as a big black ball. What is it.

1. Sometimes when you get in so much pain, your nerves get damaged and they dont send the message that you are in pain to your brain. It's common.
