- www.salary.com . . . it depends wildly on how long you've been in business. The biggest differences, are that in NY, an insurance company HAS to offer a policy - so prices are a lot higher. And in FL, the population 65 and older - and FL has the highest percentage of those - already have Medicare. Cheaper insurance prices in FL, smaller market.
- Nothing if they don't sell any policies. It's very different EVERYWHERE else compared to NY. New York is in their own little world. You can sell the mainstream companies as opposed to these companies that nobody has ever heard of.
- Health insurance agents are on commissions. State probably does make difference but not much if you are not selling a log. I would say commissions are around 20% of your client's premium, up or down, I hope that give's you some idea and helps.
