Cancer Help?
Please don't pity me, i get it enough. I was just wondering, my mother is a 4th time cancer fighter, shes still miraculously alive and fighting caner in her bones and marrow and such, shes had her breast removed, had her sternum vivisected, and countless cancer treatments from classic to experimental, its just not working. Men can have breast cancer as well. Her mother had breast cancer and died of it. All things end, i know this, but my worries lie in mine and my brother fate, him age of 20, myself age 18. Neither of us is unhealthy, we are both athletic and fit. I was wondering the likely hood of myself or him, contracting some form of cancer and if we are much more likely to contract it then an average male or female due to our mothers inherited disease. Should i get a full body scan and MRI at some point in my life to make sure i don't have any possible issues creeping up on me? Should i get checked soon or wait a little?

- at some time in your life get all the tests..........colon...........psa.............. Speak to the cancer Doc..he can give you a better picture of your future.....Sometimes it is inherited.sometimes it is just bad luck.........he might be able to tell which your future might have
- I think you should look into something like BRAC Analysis..thats a breast cancer risk analysis, but there has to be something more comprehensive. I would definitly get checked out now and the same for your brother. Stay on top of it. Good luck!
- Genes are only part of the reason you are at risk http://www.hhs.gov/faq/diseases/familyhealthhistory/612.html Learn as much as you can about the disease and the steps you need to take to monitor your health. They are learning more each day and there is no telling what your prognosis would be somewhere down the road if you do get it. Early detection is the key to survival. Get connected with your local breast cancer organizations. They can offer support to your mother/family now and in the future. http://ww3.komen.org/home/ Worry is not good for you....get the facts. Spend quality time with your mother while you can....she is not her disease.
- well that bad news yes it is possible you and your brother have inherited it so i think every 5-8 years get all the tests to check. but you may not have got it it may just have happened. Its the same for me, my grandmother had breast cancer and my dad passed away from heart troubles. my family is riddeled with disease and im only young too. its important to be aware and careful.
- check out this research group http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
- Get a book about Hydrogen Peroxide (by Campbell Douglas). Apparently, it can cure cancer!!
