Can you use medical insurance for dental work?
I need a couple of root canals but I am out of dental insurance. Can I use my medical insurance for these procedures?

- NO
- No, there are four separate parts to insurance (apparently we are four separate things). Health, dental, prescription, and vision. Each one costs extra.
- Some offices will submit through your medical if it's listed as a surgery. When my wisdom teeth were pulled, they ran the procedure through my medical first and then my dental. Either way, very little is covered - 50% or less.
- no
- No, not unless it is otherwise stated in your plan. Even medical insurance does not cover everything medical. Dental insurance and medical insurance are two different things.
- healthquotes.awardspace.info - my family have this health insurance. It is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.
- From here www.dentalfree.info ,Not only has it would save you hundreds of dollars, but also it will help your find a wonderful local dentist.
- Some can but some can not. For more information please visit this site http://www.localinsuresearch.com/myhealthins.php
- Generally you may NOT use medical benefits for dental treatment. Laws may vary somewhat from state to state. The circumstances under which you MAY use medical insurance are when the dental treatment is made necessary due to an accident. In some states dental problems due to vehicular accidents can have claims submitted thru auto insurance. Surgical problems are a gray area, and have no first-hand expertise here. Oral surgeons who operate within a hospital may have an easier time putting claims through medical insurance than they may in their own offices, but this too will vary from state to state and according the the specific policy provisions.
