sciatic pain?

I am in breast cancer remission for 18 months. Over the past year my back pain has increased. This year alone I have had 4 full body bone scans as i have a spot on my fourth rib they are watching, the last month i have developed pain in my buttock that goes down my leg, sometimes it seems to start in my shoulder and go the whole way down my side, someone told me that it could be sciatic pain, has anyone else experienced this sort of pain?

  1. Yes I had suffered from sciatica for years. An MRI showed a degenerative disc disease. in my lumbar spine. I had a spinal fusion last October, and I am finally feeling some relief as it has been almost a year since my surgery. I'm not sure if there are other reasons for sciatica, but I know it is very painful. You should get this checked out soon. Good luck and God bless you.
  2. as you had a breast cancer . sciatica if related to it is bad , its because cancer has gone in there . but best is what your doctor told you . you should ask for details. dont ask here . ask your doctor. its your right goodluck
  3. I know a guy who suffers from that. He fell off his truck. The pain is so severe, he can't sleep at time. A therapist showed him how to stretch the leg and buttock muscle. It sometimes works. He's takes pain meds and he still feels it some.
