If AARP uses United Health Care for the health insurance would it be cheaper if you got the insurance through?
United Health care ins. and eliminated AARP?

- I went on United Health Care through AARP in 2004 and it was less expensive to do it that way than going directly through United Health Care. However, it went up at least $50 (sometimes $75) every year. When I called United Health Care directly they said my premium would also increase if I went directly with them. So, I started out with a premium of about $380 a month in 2004 and when I canceled that insurance in March 2010, my premium was $623.50 a month. Insurance is just way too expensive -- and I just had the regular insurance with a $2,000 deductible! No pre-existing conditions or anything like that.
