What do you think of the flight ban for Muslim pair who refused full body scan at airport?

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/161604/Flight-ban-for-Muslim-pair-who-refused-full-body-scan AIRPORT bosses last night defended their decision to prevent two Muslim women from boarding a flight for refusing to undergo a full body scan. The women, who are the first in the UK to receive such a ban, had been selected at random to pass through a recently-introduced £80,000 X-ray machine. The controversial device displays a “naked” image of a passenger allowing security staff to identify hidden weapons and explosives. But one of the women objected on religious grounds and the other for medical reasons.

Public Comments

  1. That proves their disrespect and disregard to the law
  2. I think they had something to hide.Mind you, to be fair ,it is a bit embarrassing and intrusive.
  3. seeing as how the rules are there because their cousins blew s**t up, and now all attention is focused on arabs as soon as they walk on a plane, you'd think they'd abide by the rules.
  4. Fine by me, I think all muslims should be banned from flying, it will make everyones flight less stressfull
  5. The irony is that we wouldn't even have a * need * for the machine were it not for extremists in the very religion to which they adhere. If Muslims cleaned up their own messes, we'd be in a lot better shape.
  6. Randomly selected, eh? But the same rules applies for everyone. That's what democracy teaches us. I can't see why those two women would be above the law. Everyone can cite objections that may be religious or medical, does that mean they would get a free pass as well? If rules do not suit you, you don't fly. Simple as that.
  7. Would the powers that be have treated two nuns wearing habits the same way ?
  8. I think it's about time we did this. I have no problem with it. Isn't it funny how liberals bend over backwards to avoid offending Muslims but Christians and Jews can be openly insulted in the media and it's just fine?
  9. I congratulate the women for refusing the scan. Can UK dare scan their queen Elizabeth?
  10. Clearly they had something to hide and I do not accept their excuse that it is based on religious ground and medical.
  11. I think it's great. I fail to understand how people think it's ok for someone to be completely covered up going into banks or airplanes. These are areas of high security and a woman (or a man dressed in a burqa) can strap stuff onto their bodies and there would be no way of knowing. Mind you, a nun can do the same or anyone, really. So this is something that should be used for everyone.
  12. I say if the story was about Atheists, then many Atheists would be saying that it is biased. If this story was about Christians, then many Christians would say that it is biased. Since this is about Muslims, I suppose many Muslims would think that it was biased, and are automatically going to take the side of those people. People are generally sensitive when it comes to topics about their social groups. Then you have people like me, who can understand why some people might refuse something like that, and also understand why they should get into trouble for it. In that respect, it makes it difficult to form a concrete a opinion about something or someone. "“People shouldn’t have to sacrifice their health, their faith, their dignity, or their privacy in order to fly." People shouldn't be taken hostage on a plane either, but it happens. People shouldn't have to worry about other drivers following the road rules, but they have to anyway.
  13. I think the airport bosses were quite right. It is not our fault that this security has to exist. The more scanning and security there is, the happier I am to board a 'plane.
  14. i would refuse the scan on purely non-religious reasons.if you cant tell if i have explosives or weapons without seeing me naked, you dont need to be working security at an airport. o,by the way, they are putting these in courthouses now,so it isnt as simple as just not flying anymore.

  16. Banning them was the right thing to do. What makes these people think that they are entitled to extra privileges is just plain arrogance. It's not like they are going to melt when scanned. Muslim women do not posses anything different from any other women. Back in their own country their words and protest have as much value as chicken shit. Scans are a small price to pay for our peace of mind when flying.
  17. Looks like they will be stuck here in the UK for a while then. Perhaps if we start scanning before people come in,our immigration problem will decline.
  18. Refund their tickets. Let them drive.
  19. Since Muslim jihadis are the ones who made this and many other security measures necessary at airports, they should not be exempt. Some have tried to say it goes against their ideology, but they are just trying to put themselves above the law. If they refuse to pass through the necessary security checks that their ideology caused, they should be banned from flying.
