Scan Medical Insurance

What do you think of the new full body scanners at airports?

They put it in several airports during the past few weeks. You have the option of doing a 5 seconds full body scan or a person patting you down. Is it an invasion of privacy, especially for women?

  1. I don't approve. Because of people's past actions now everyone has to be treated like a criminal. I personally don't want to be subjected to a virtual strip search. And for people that are for it- good for you- that's your opinion. What about people with kids? I'm not a parent, but I don't think it's okay to have some stranger gawking at your 10 year old's giblets. Where is the line drawn? They say that the images can't be leaked but I've seen images all over the news. http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/slideshow/photo//100305/ids_photos_ts/r3998879106.jpg/ You can obviously see his privates. Even if they were to put in procedures I'm sure someone would find a way around them. There's always a way. So what if there's "professional" looking on the other end? What if there isn't? How would you know? Personally this is where I draw the line. I don't plan on flying any time soon.
  2. Airport security is a joke. It's mostly for show and to make the public feel good. That said, if passengers wish to fly cheaply (relatively) on commercial airlines that is what they will have to go through. As for the answerer who said the actions of a few cause us all to be treated like criminals, that's false as well. Unless, of course, the few you are talking about are the lawyers of the ACLU who decided "profiling" is wrong. THAT is the reason EVERYONE is treated like a criminal. To add safety measures like scanning, everyone must be subject to it or no one can be. It is political correctness at its worst.
