Do you agree/disagree that all airline passengers should have a full body scan before boarding a plane?
Do you think children should also be scanned?
Public Comments
- Yes, they should be scanned!
- It would be safer, but the full body scan would allow the person to pretty much see everyone naked as they come through the airport. Can you say invasive? Subjecting children to the scan too also encroaches on questions of morality.
- No. I think everyone should be required to be in the airport naked. Then we should all bend spread and cough.
- Agree. And if the TSA person is hot, she can give me a full body search.
- That's a tricky subject but yes, I do agree.
- If that's what it takes to keep me safe when flying, hell yes I agree.
- Yes. I'd rather have a scanned body than a dead one.
- No and no.
- At this point in time I agree. I know it's very inconvenient but had you rather some nut sneak something on the plane and kill everyone on-board?
- An 8 x 8 cell will keep everyone safe and when have you seen an attack to an 8 x 8 cell in full concrete with iron bar...?
- Since I know it would not make us any safer, just as none of the things now required make us any safer, I say, "No!". Why not just make everyone be naked and subject to body cavity search? That is just one step away from "full body scan". Children can not be exempt because bad things can be carried in their body cavities as well. It is all idiotic and should be stopped.
- We have to change with the times. Years ago, it would have been thought of as "immoral" for a woman to go to work. I am not happy about the idea of full body scans, but it appears to be a necessity to keep us safe while flying. Don't want to subject yourself to it? Drive or take a boat.
- Better safe than sorry. I'd rather go through that than have the guy next to me lighting his shoe (or boxers) on fire.
- agree
- I think that decision should be left up to the individual airline. If they say you have to be scanned before entering their plane, then it's up to the customer to decide if they want to use that airlines services or not. It all comes down to choice. Do you want to be safer? Do you think it's not all that important? There is always rental cars and ships to get you where you want to go.
- Sure. If someone wants to see my gut, more power to them.
- I only support the use of this technology if ALL people departing an airport are screened with it, even those taking private jets at private airports. Would this technology have caught the christmas day bomber? Doubtful, considering that the bomb was hidden behind his junk. So unless the TSA is going to require everyone to lay down and spread their legs, it is pointless. I'm a man and can tell you that there will be no "professionalism" behind the scenes with this technology. Expect that photos of women going through the process will be plastered all over the internet shortly after it becomes mainstream.
- I don't see why everyone shouldn't be scanned if the technology to do so quickly and effectively is available. I don't think everyone should receive a physical pat down...they should have scanners similar to what is used on our luggage.
- This guy would have easily been found out with a simple pat down and luggage search! Or a dog! To involuntarily scan everybody is ridiculous - those scans WILL CAUSE CANCER in a certain portion of the public! It's not right, and I sure as hell am not going to let my kids walk through one of those goddamn things!
- I think every one should be stripped naked and body searched, and get on the plane nude until they get off, and should all be hand and feet chained on the flight. Well that's the way it's going. Our rights are being taken from us all the time.
- Disagree 100%... Next they'll want full body cavity searches.. Want on the plane.. Bend over. This whole idea is absurd. They need to quit worrying about hurting someones feelings and search anyone that fits the terrorist profile.. Heck we all know that as soon as a muslim complains that a body scan is in opposition to Sharia law they will become exempt... If their women can't show their hair, why in the heck would it be ok for some minimum wage perv at the airport to google them. How many horror stories are going to leak out of the airports about $5/$10 bets being placed in the employee lounge about 'whether or not her breast are real?', 'That one on the rag?' , 'he hung like a horse or a tick' chuckle, chuckle.. Give me a break. I have teenage daughters and in no way shape or form does AnyOne have a right to make them into victims, especially when it is preventable by going the extra measure to actually check the Watch list or pull those that are of Islamic decent aside and screen them further.. How many rape victims and victims of assault are going to have to be re-victimized only because going after us is more pc then going after them...
- I think that professionals who see hundreds of bodies every hour would become somewhat like doctors and be desensitized to it. The few that would abuse their position would receive the appropriate discipline.
- Right :-)
