Do I have the right to refuse a full-body scan at the airport?
I have avoided radiation in every form because 7 people in my family have died terrible deaths over the years due to cancers. Our doctor recommended to all of us to live prudently in diet, avoidance of X-rays and excess sunshine. Are the new airport scanners a threat to those in my position? (Cancer-prone family history)

- I would not plan on flying anywhere then. If you refuse the scan then you will not be getting on the plane. Good luck.
- Yes, as long as you are open to a more thorough search by hand.
- Yes, you have the right to refuse it by turning around and leaving the airport.
- Yes, but neither do they have to allow you to board.
- You have a right NOT to fly on airplanes. You do realize that just flying emits radiation into your body, right?
- yea and they would have the right to refuse you past the security check points
- You can refuse as long as you weren't planning on flying.
