Scan Medical Insurance

Is a full body scan too high a price to pay for a safe flight?

Although I understand the reasoning behind this move, for me it maybe. And is this 'giving in' to the terrorists - in terms of invasion of privacy? .... This has to go in this category, because the full list won't come up.... Apologies - should be ... for me it maybe IS. NO JR I am asking a perfectly valid question..... there is no need for rudeness.

  1. No...it is better than being attacked by some fanatic.
  2. Some people would class it as an invasion of privacy, but surely, if you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear and should accept this invasion so that they can fly in safety. Can you put a price on human lives?
  3. you are talking crap if you don`t like it don`t fly
  4. No, it's not. If you're uncomfortable with the idea, then don't fly. Unfortunately, the technology is becoming a necessity.
  5. from a terrorist view point, I doubt they would see this as giving in to them, as they are interested only in killing innocent people, and air passenger travel is but one of their targets. Some will see it as an invasion of privacy, and once is becomes compulsory they will need to make their own choice about flying, as it stands it is likely to be a while before it becomes 100% compulsory with the otion of a pat down search being available for those opting out.
  6. I want to travel, and I will do what it takes in order to be as safe as I can be. Compromising on my safety because someone has some notions about privacy is not acceptable to me. The threats are real and are more than a notion. Ignoring them will not make them go away. To me full body scans are not "giving in" - they are dealing with a problem head-on. If you are travelling by air, you are going out in PUBLIC, with other people on a shared conveyance. If you are so concerned about privacy that you are not prepared to disclose what you may be carrying, then you should stay IN PRIVATE and not use public transport with others.
