ANSWERS IN YOUR OWN WORDS PLEASE THANK YOU!! 1. Name and define the three main types of joints. (5 points each ) 2. Name a specific joint as an example from the human body of each of the six types of synovial joints. To get full credit, you must name the type of synovial joint and the joint from the body. (5 points each) 3. Why is it unnecessary for a fibrous (synarthrodial) joint to have a synovial membrane? (5 points) 4. At his 94th birthday party, James was complimented on how good he looked and was asked about his health. He replied, "I feel good most of the time, but some of my joints ache and are stiff, especially my knees, hips and lower back, and especially in the morning when I wake up." A series of X-rays and an MRI scan taken a few weeks earlier had revealed that the articular cartilages of these joints was rough and flaking off, and that bone spurs (overgrowths of bone) were present at the ends of some of James' bones. What is James' probable condition? (5 points) 5. Compare and contrast the images produced by X-ray and MRI. (5 points) 6. Sylvia went to her doctor because she had pain in her wrist, along with swelling and redness in the area, fever and nausea. Her doctor ran some tests, including blood tests and an MRI. After giving Sylvia her diagnosis, he sent her to the pharmacy with a prescription for antibiotics. What is Sylvia's probable condition? (5 points) 7. Although Sylvia's condition is acute right now, there is a chance that it could become chronic. What is the difference between acute and chronic? (5 points) 8. 1In fruit flies, red eyes are dominant over white eyes. Draw a Punnett square to show the results of a cross between a hybrid red-eyed fruit fly and a (pure) white eyed fruit fly. You don't have to send me your Punnett square. Just use it to answer these questions: a. What percentage of the offspring would exhibit the dominant trait? (2 points) b. What percentage of the offspring would be pure for red eyes? (2 points) I don't have a text book or else i would look in it.. And if i had a text book i wouldn't be on here asking duhh.

  1. 1. google "joints of the body" or look at http://www.shockfamily.net/skeleton/JOINTS.HTML 2. google "synovial joints" or just look at this: http://www.shockfamily.net/skeleton/JOINTS.HTML 3. it has to do with movement, i think 4. google "joints ache, articular cartilage rough, bone spurs" or look here : http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00227 5. google "what is the difference between xray and mri" Look at some of those sites. 6. google "wrist pain, swelling, fever, nausea, antibiotics" (...infection?) 7. google "what is the difference between acute and chronic" 8. google "punnett square" make a simple one with R,W (hybrid red) on one side and W,W(pure white) on the other. Match up the boxes. Since red eyes are dominant, any box with an R in it will be a red-eyed fly (exhibiting the dominant trait) ( ? out of 4). Any box with RR in it is pure for red eyes. (? out of 4)

And besides.. you put it in the languages section.. I don't think you will get any answers here.. Except for mine, that is. :) good luck
