Know something about sudden bruising in children?

Our 2 year old niece is hospitalized at the moment with a mystery illness. She bruises instantly at the touch of a finger, and the bruises disappear overnight. Just sleeping on her side makes her wake up in the morning with a swollen face, huge black eyes, etc. She also has severe joint pain. The doctors and specialists (pediatric hematologist) are baffled! Platelet count, organ sizes, CAT scan, full body X-ray, vital signs are all normal. Child abuse and hemophilia are ruled out. They tested for Von Willebrand but the results take a week to come back. Please, any suggestions will help!

1. Have they checked her spleen? A friend of mine had to have his removed because of similar problems but that was many years ago. I wish you the best in finding the solution
