MRI scan and pregnancy?

about 6 weeks after possible conception I had an MRI full body scan. Would they have seen anything if i was pregnant? I told them I wasn't. And i have regular periods and everything. tho i am still worried :S

  1. You really should have told them that there was a concern for pregnancy... since you are obviously worried about it. But, I'm sure that your baby will be ok if it is just this one scan. Not to scare you even more, but some women continue having periods even when they are pregnant. If you are concerned about pregnancy, just take a test. Then you can stop worrying. They probably will not notice a baby in the scan if they are not specifically looking in that area. If you are pregnant, then that did not interfere with the test, unless the baby shadowed your uterus and whatnot. Just take a test so you can stop worrrying. That's the best advice I can give you. Good luck with your MRI results and pregnancy test:)
  2. you are in luck, am MRI scan has no x-rays. it is safe during pregnancy, unlike xrays and ct scans. you and your baby will be fine. MRI is so much more beneficial to the patient but so much more expensive that they are not often ordered. good luck with your pregnancy
