Scan Medical Insurance

Where can I find good info about brain tumors? Is there someone online that can help me read an MRI?

My grandmother has a large brain tumor and we don't know if it's malignant or not. She had a full body scan today, but the MRI won't be read until monday. However, I have the MRI on a CD. Is there a website with more information about this? Is there some online forum or service willing to help read MRI's?

  1. Oh, dear, brain tumors are nearly always benign. However, they can still cause a great deal of trouble. So, it doesn't matter does it? She will need surgery or it won't be operable or it will be operable and she won't want it.There are so many variables here and one is:too much info. Take some tylenol pm and go to bed. I had breast cancer. I found it in my lymph nodes under my arm, by the time it was taken out it was the size of a walnut and malignant. They later took out 10 more. There was nothing that could be done. I had chemo, radiation, lost my hair, lost a year of my life plus. That my child was 4 yrs ago. I loved my grandmother too, both of them and they both died because I did not have the power to save them. I thought I could wave a magic wand. I tell people now my magic wand is broken, but where it fails God begins, and God made oncologists as sure as we are breathing. God bless you for the courage to ask this question and I am writing thru my tears.
  2. NO, no, no... why does everyone ask about this. It is a TERRIBLE idea for you both to seek advice from a forum like this on MRIs and to give out medical records online. Come on, I know it's hard, but you will just have to wait. I'm sorry for what you are going through.
  3. sure i can read your mri for you but i can't tell you if it's benign just by looking at the mri. you'll need a biopsy to determine that.
  4. Brain tumors account for one in every 100 cancers diagnosed annually in the United States. also see: The National Brain Tumor Foundation is a nationwide non-profit organization serving people whose lives are affected by brain tumors. We are dedicated to promoting a cure for brain tumors, improving the quality of life and giving hope to the brain tumor community by funding meaningful research and providing patient resources, timely information and education. BTW: Do NOT attempt to read it. Wait for the result. If you're not satisfied then, get a 2nd and 3rd opinion.
