When is the United States of America going to provide universal healthcare coverage from there citizens?
What ever happened to moralistic value's, what happened to equality? When and how can the insurance companies put a dollar on human lives. Money to the demoralized is more important then lives of people. The thought that medical insurance is only approved on the basis's of profit, and not in the thought of providing care for people that need it is to me so much of a shame that I am ashamed that I to am an american. Please what can we do to ensure that our country is not ran by a small demoralized minority, but that our country in ran by the large majority and that is that american people. Even with universal healthcare people can still choose there own doctor. Thje doctors are paid more when they provide people with better care What about free college education to all? That is a big problem to the young and to me, before I can get an education I am forced into a debt. What the hell is this?

- Interesting typo - "provide universal healthcare coverage FROM there citizens." I think it's appropriate actually.... The Federal government could change the laws restricting Interstate sales of health insurance.....that would prevent one company from having a monopoly and jacking prices. The Federal government is a real part of the problem when it comes to lacking affordable coverage. Health care "reform" should start with reforming government laws and mandates that drive up the cost of health care.....
- Cheers, well said. Now that is a great point. Some states are run 95% by ONE health insurance company. How is that fair to the people. These sell outs in the senate better stand up and make a decision for the people.
- First, you have to realize that none of the proposals currently in place come close to "Universal Health Care." The broken "insurance" structure will still exist, only now the government will get a fat share of the corrupt pie. Is that "reform" to you? Next, I thought liberals were the ones who didn't like it when others tried to lay their "morality" on them. That said, understand that with "morality" comes "responsibility," meaning certain sacrifices must be made. Let's look at what other countries with "successful" UHC also have: Mandatory National Service - I see many teens and twenty-somethings who demand that I pay more in taxes. I wonder how many of them will willingly join the military for four years at age 18 to support state-run healthcare. State-Controlled Access to University-level Education: Again, I wonder how many American youth who now have the choice of colleges will readily accept that they must go to a trade school for the good of the State based on a test they take between the ages of 13 and 18. Rigid Immigration Standards: People who tout the various "studies" that claim the US system lags way behind UHC systems don't seem to realize that much of that research compares those within the UHC system (i.e. documented, taxpaying citizens) to the ENTIRE U.S. population. In order to put your "moral" imperative into place, are you willing to once-and-for-all lock out ALL illegal immigrants from receiving even the ER care that they get today?
- What about the children!!! The children I tell you!!!
- In answer to your first question - I am afraid the answer is "never". You will see by the responses you will be getting that we are now a nation of me me me me and screw everyone else. You will be hearing myths, misconceptions and outright lies, from people who are too lazy or ill informed to learn the truth of the matter. It is so sad.
- hopefully NEVER. I prefer to choose my own doctor.
- When your average American develops a mind of their own & stops basing their beliefs on what FOX news tells them.
- I suggest you take an economics course. Here, I'll even get you started for free. That's for real free, not free like when the government says it. Start with "The Law" by Frederick Bastiat, then read "Government" also by Bastiat. When you're finished read "Economics in One Lesson" by Henry Hazlitt. After that read "The Adventures of Johnathan Gullible." You'll have to pay for that one from the fruits of your own labor, but after you've read the other three, you will no longer have a problem with having to do so.
- I agree with you. It seems these days people cannot look beyond their own needs to see a way to come together and help one another. These are hedonistic times, where there are the haves and have nots. It seems people are afraid to show generosity and be kind. I think back to my own childhood of being raised by a single mother in the 70's (she was minority even though I am white) and how terrible it was for her, no matter how hard she worked. We never had food and had it not been for people in the church who donated boxes of canned food to us, I probably would have starved. Clothes too were donated to us. Eventually my mother had to send me away, it was too expensive for her to support us both and she worked a good full time job in the aerospace industry. Her doctor was the family doctor who would see me, even performing surgery on me when other doctors turned her away due to her lack of funds. I would have died had it not been for Doctor Sternfeld. The point is that because of the charity and kindness shown to her and me, I feel like I want to give back. But try expressing that to hateful people and those who have had a life of either privilege or luck, and you will see no sympathy or understanding. But I think that would change if the shoe was on the other foot. To think many of these people call themselves Christians, when Christ was a liberal and a giving soul is depressing and unfortunate. Keep your values and never let anyone knock them. An educated person does not necessarily make one good unless they can use their knowledge to benefit others. Otherwise it is just greed and ego stroking that lacks nobility at the end of the day. All the best.
