What are the medical insurance options in Mexico when you are over 75?
My husband and I would like to live six months in the states and six months in Mexico. I have heard that you cannot get medical insurance if you are over 75 (i.e., international insurance). I would appreciate any information that may be out there.

- If you have an FM3 visa , you can sign up for the IMSS ins..the national ins. plan. Cost is less than $300 a year and it covers everything. some people do not like it, but i have it and find it to be very good and the clinic in my area very efficient. There may also be some private plans for Americans/Canadians, esp. in cities with lots of them like the area around Lake Chapala and San Miguel de Allende. One of the sites below says IM SS does not cover preexisting conditions for the first 3 years, but that is an error...the rule is for the 1st year..and they actually usually ignore that. Many people have the IMSS ins. for big problems, and use private docs for small issues. I find the IMSS to be excellent.
