How much will it cost me to have a DXA full body scan done?

- i take this to mean a bone densitometry, this is not one of the more expensive test, depending on your area, and availability I would say in the neighborhood of 150-300 dollars.
- I strongly suggest that you read all you can about having a full body scan before you make a decision. Why do you want this? Has your doctor recommended it?Remember there is a fair amount of radiation delivered with this procedure.
- I had one done a couple years back and it cost my insurance company about 160.00. They don't test your full body but just your hip and spine. If you are talking about a bone scan then that is a different test and more expensive. DXA scans use about one tenth the radiation of a chest xray. You can read up here about all the particulars on DXA scans. http://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?pg=dexa
- it is a waist of time! if u are worried about bones bone scan or blastic lesions - $300 CT scan - lytic lesion of particular area pet/ct for lytic and blastic lesions - $2000 pet/ct + sodium floride - research but more accurate than anything
