How to get a comprehensive medical insurance cover while traveling to the US for a vacation?
I intend traveling to US with my family (wife & kid of 35 and 2 years age) on a B1/B2 visa which is just a visit visa. My global medical insurance cover does not cover US and Canada. Will appreciate information which can help me resolve this.

- Travel agents and airlines sell travel medical insurance. Do try to select a policy that pays the medical bill rather than only reimburses after you pay. An example is: http://www.imglobal.com/insurance_plans.cfm?imgac=182857&frames=0&app_method=1&CFID=364420&CFTOKEN=7f2c9e61bb963956-DB43CC8D-2264-F52B-AA83D40865E0FBF6
- Well, any emergency room in the US has to give you care if go there, so I'm not really sure that it would be worth it to get insurance for a vacation. If you really think you need it, I have some links on my blog. See below.
- As NOLA guy said, see a travel agent. However, the insurance they sell is only for emergencies in the USA and only pay the part your insurance from home does not pay. No travel policy is fully comprehensive in that they will cover things that regular medical insurance will pay. These policies are only meant to cover emergencies and generally only reimburse you when you get home. For extra cost they will cover evacuating you back home. However, do not expect to get a travel policy to the USA and then expect treatment for cancer.
