Scan Medical Insurance

I will be having a full body scan one year after my thyroid surgery. Do I need to stay away from others?

I am having my 2 year old grandson visit me and want to be sure that I can be around him after the body scan

  1. You can be around others. Your body will carry very little of the radiation levels that you were exposed to... and these will dissipate fast. As the fluid disperses, so will the levels... Drink fluids to accelerate the process.
  2. Put your mind at ease. There is no reason to avoid others.
  3. Enjoy the visit, it is perfectly safe.
  4. Hello: As I have said in other questions about radiation about it being a small amount not enough to give you cancer. Well a body scan is even less radiation. It is more like a x-ray so if you think a x-ray is too much than nothing we say will matter. But if you would be around others after a x-ray than feel safe with the body scan. But please enjoy your grand child. Children should be enjoyed. Loved. and Cared about. You and your grandson should go get a ice cream and totally enjoy your time.
