Has anyone had a total body bone scan where they inject radioactive dye?If so,do you think it can cause cancer

- i had die injected to see the flow of my veins . I don't know if thats what you mean. But the die is safe. There was a die that caused kidney damage but that was years ago.
- My wife had many scans with dyes of different types. Since the doctors were looking for cancer, I doubt that it was much of a concern to them.
- I don't think nuclear medicine studies cause cancer, and neither do the experts. "Because the doses of radiotracer administered are small, diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures result in minimal radiation exposure. Thus, the radiation risk is very low compared with the potential benefits....Nuclear medicine has been used for more than five decades, and there are no known long-term adverse effects from such low-dose exposure." http://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?PG=gennuclear
- I had one each year for five years after having breast cancer. I don't think that is an issue.
- Yep, several times. But I already had cancer so it wasn't a major concern.
- Well seeing how I already had a pretty serious case of cancer, it was not a concern to me.
- i have had it...suppose to be safe
