You're willing to accept the insurance company job losses?!?

Being that I work for a group that does the insurance billing for the physicians at a major Medical University in my area, I am appaulled to hear someone say they'll take the job losses with the healthcare reform. Are you kidding me? So basically because the healthcare reform doesn't affect YOUR job you don't give a damn?! The insurance companies will not be the only ones who lose jobs, persons such as myself (who will have no insurance companies to bill and collect from) will lose jobs as well. So at what point do you, as an American citizen START caring about job loses? Or do you not care at all unless it directly affects you? Don't confuse reality with fear mongering. President Obama himself spoke the words that his aim is to ELIMINATE private employer funded healthcare. With gov't healthcare there will be one employer and one payor. They aren't going to need the millions of people working in the health insurance billing industry to do that job. Well Will let's see my mother lost her job and had to move back from California to a small one bedroom apt. Guess who helped her get financially settled? My sister lost her job in january guess who helps her financially? My older sister lost her job in february guess who's taking her son back to school shopping? My mother in law lost her job in march guess who's doors are wide open for her when the bank forecloses on her home? so don't tell me I don't care!

1. they can work for the government....are you willing to accept all the avoidable deaths and rising health care costs?
2. When the ceo makes 102,045 dollars an hour, I'm sure he can spare to have his wage cut.
3. You haven't explained why you would lose your job. Fear mongering is childish. You will have 40 million more people who will need insurance billing. There will be no job losses, as more people will need and want and be able to pay for insurance.
4. Average insurance company CEO makes 10 million dollars a year. Is that fair? Why cant they work for 200 thousand?
5. Do you care when people all over the country have and are losing their jobs period. I doubt it. You are speculating. Theirs is real.
6. If everyone is required to be covered there may be increases in insurance company jobs. The insurance companies like the idea of universal coverage but they hate the concept of the public option, for obvious reasons.
7. If government competes with insurance companies........ that means there may be loss of jobs in the insurance companies........ but those jobs won't be lost..........they will simply be moved to the public sector.
