Scan Medical Insurance

To those who have private medical insurance: do you agree with Nancy Pelosi that insurers are "villains"?

From her July 30 press conference: "The public option—that's where the insurance companies are making their attacks—it's almost immoral what they are doing, " said Pelosi, addressing reporters outside of her office a few minutes ago. "Of course, they've been immoral all along," she added. "They are the villains in this, they have been part of the problem in a major way. They are doing everything in their power to stop a public option from happening and the public has to know.. They have had a good thing going for a long time at the expense of the American people and the health of our country." Is this why she is championing a health care system that will eventually eliminate the private option?

Public Comments

  1. They are part of the problem.
  2. Only thing insurance companies care about is your money.*
  3. Insurance companies are not designed to pay. It is basically an extortion racket.
  4. No, no more than I agree with a previous statement she made that illegal aliens are patriots and ICE activities are un-American.
  5. Like it said in the british comedy program "Drop the dead donkey" with full medical insurance you are totally covered right up until the point where you actually fall ill.
  6. All any insurance company (auto, health, home, etc.) cares about is your money. However, I wouldn't trust our government to run anything. Look at social security, medicare, and even the cash for clunkers (ran out of money after 4 days!). Long story short, we're screwed either way.
  7. She is a Villian. She is in the game for herself and she doesn't care what we the people want.
  8. The real truth is revealed in her statements. Her statements only further prove that their attempts at implementing government involvement in the health care system will eventually put an end to private insurance company's. I have private insurance through my company that is very cheap and they cover everything (and no I am not in a union), so not all insurance company's screw their clients. The health care industry costs are staggering due to the lack of tort reform (and Obama has made it clear that he will not work to cap lawsuits so his lawyers buddies can make a killing on ambulance chasing). Illegals are using the ER's and costing tax payers and hospitals are closing because of this, as they get away without any costs to them- they should all be sent home and can only return legally. Finally, fraud is causing costs to skyrocket. If they do not address any of these very reasons it will never be fixed and their government plan will kill jobs, private insurance company's and people (rationed care).
  9. I think that is hilarious since the Dem plan is based on insurance, and Dems have received the bulk of the donations from insurance companies and Obama won't even release visitor logs showing how many times which ins cos visited the white house, and the DEM plan (GOP doesn't even know what it is yet) come up with to satisfy blue dogs reportedly takes nothing from ins co's. The GOP plans ALL are based on tax credits and voucher type systems. The control remains with the individual. Not with the insurance company and not with a 'captive' governmental agency.
  10. Yes. Insurance companies have been protected for years against having to compete for business and offer better services. Now that there's finally someone who's willing to do something about it, the insurance companies are spending millions promoting lies to keep people too afraid to do anything about it. Anything to preserve the status quo.
  11. Yes they are villains. So why don't they try to regulate the amount of money they can charge us? That's what they should be working on.
