why are we allowing airlines to do full body scans?
We need to stop this invasion of our privacy. Its all a bunch of bs. No plane will ever be taken over by terrorists. Since 9/11 everytime i have flow i have felt very safe because i know that most people on that plane wouldnt let a bunch of guys take it over. People wake up why is this happening in our country and what can we do to stop it? I say stop flying for a few months and let these airlines know that this is bull.

- For security reasons. Terrorist would do anything to hide a bomb or explosives or any weapons. Terrorist could hide a weapon in their ass if they were desperate enough. There is always room for more security.
- Yeah. I don't care if people want to look at my junk to secure air traffic. Its for the greater good. Besides, if you read the articles about these new full-body scans, they're not as revealing as they sound. Almost anything we do to prevent terrorism and hi-jacking will be good with most people becuase like the other guy said, terrorists will always find new ways to bring stuff onto planes.
- I agree, but if you stop flying then the airline will just go bankrupt and have to have the govt bail them out again. What I cant stand is the shoes! Take off your shoes so we can scan then! I even saw them make a couple take off their baby's shoes! And the liquids! They wont let you take liquids through the security check - (drinks) so I bought some orange juice AFTER the security check and when I was in line to board the plane they told me that I could not take it on board!
- Actually its the government..tsa not the airlines doing this..and also there are other ways that theses guys can take over a plane like hide it in their carry on bags or even in their private areas just stuff it in their underwear..they can hide it in shoes as well..i know its sad ..but hey u cant trust no one nowadays in this world so u have to do what u gotta do.. i work at a airport during the summer when I'm not in school so i know how this is
- better be safe than sorry
- Vegas, We are not allowing airlines to do this. This is being done by the Transportation Security Administration. If you do not agree with it, don't fly. Simple. It is not always possible for passengers to thwart hijackers. In fact, it has not been done successfully. All you are doing is complaining about an invasion of your privacy. Grow up.
- All I'm going to say is, get your information straight BEFORE you complain. It's NOT the airlines that set these rules for security, it's TSA. If you think it is such an invasion of your privacy....then walk, drive, take a bike, or a boat wherever you may going.
- "The X-ray is not strong enough to penetrate much beyond the skin, so it cannot find weapons that may be hidden in body cavities." So I suppose those of you who want more security are willing to endure full body cavity searches? Things to think about: Does a male TSA employee scan female passengers? Are these images stored with the passenger data attached? Do you want them looking at your child basically nude? TSA employees are not the most honest people, think about all of the baggage theft and other complaints of sexual harassment. Either do not fly or go to the airport completely naked and be prepared to spread your cheeks. Why not? Unless you have something to hide....
