How accurate our full body scans?

My mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer she got a full body scan in June 2006, now she is having a bad side effect from chemo and they want her to get another one. My concern is how likely is it that cancer would have spread while she has been on chemo?

1. They probably want to see if the tumor is shrinking. Unless she has had a mastectomy already. Ask her oncologist why the second scan. I have had one every year. I am 4 years out. The first lady that gave me one says the cancer lights up like a Christmas tree. I do not know how true that is.
