A few questions for anyone that is Glossary Prior Service and wanting back into the Army.?
I finished BCT in 2000 and took a medical from AIT. I have reentry code 3 and separation JFL as I was a percussionist and left due to carpal tunnel and tendonitis. I would like to come back and I am not MOS'qd as a bandsmen. Will I be able to pick an MOS or only what is critical? Also, any chance of getting the Student Loan Repayment program again? For myself and anyone else wondering that is or will be in the same situation..do we have to take the ASVAB and physical again? Will we also do BCT again? Does the recruiter get "ANY" credit since we are processed as non-prior or no? Rather, will they even help us? Thanks!

- Why do you want to serve under that halfrican usurping commander-in-chief?
- You will have all of the same options as someone who is NPS as far as MOS choices and Incentives such as a bonus or the ACF. You will have to retake the ASVAB if it has been more than 2 years since you last took it. You will have to retake the Physical if it has been more than 6 months since you last took it. You will need to be able to prove that you no longer are effected by the medical condition that you were discharged for and will need a waiver for that. Why do you care what credit the Recruiter gets? The Recruiter will most likely help you if he/ she can. Right now I don't think the Army is accepting waivers, but that doesn't mean that the Recruiter won't help you start the process and have you ready to go for when they do start accepting waivers again. I used to do that all time such as when someone had a GED, but the Army wouldn't take them. I would get them tested, and physical, and do the Police Checks and everything would be ready to go. When they opened up some GED slots, that person could just go down to MEPS and enlist. AR 601-210 9–7. - The term of Glossary Non-Prior Service is no longer in use. Since you have not been MOS qualified, you will be considered a NPS for processing purpose, regardless of time on Active Duty. The RE Code of the 3 is going to make processing difficult and you will most likely have a USAREC level waiver. I do not have the spin codes in front of me but it looks like for medical, so that would make it Command Surgeon General. If you get the medical waiver, the RE-Code waiver would be included. If not a medical related code, you are going to probably need two waivers. An Admin waiver and Medical waiver. I think every thing is going to hinge on the medical documents and something clearly showing the carpal tunnel condition no longer existing...but this is going to be hard to prove as you were separated from the Army for the condition.
