will i have to take out my body jewelery for a CT scan?

Im having a CAT scan this thursady, and i was just wondering if i would have to take out my belly button piercing for it, or if it would be okay to leave it in.

  1. Take it out it will show up on the CT-Scan. and they will tell you to remove it.
  2. Anything metal will possibly pull through the skin!!! EEW! Don't wear ANY kind of jewlrey!
  3. A CT is a bunch of X-rays, and does not produce a magnetic field strong enough to pull out jewelery. However, it will produce interferance as it will highly reflect the radiation and blur the scan.
  4. They won't allow you to wear anything metal for any procedure that involves X-ray-type technology. That's why they'll have you take off your under wire bra for a chest X-ray (and in my case, the barbells in my nipples). It will show up in the scan, and will create contrast that masks some of the areas around it as well.
  5. Take it out.
  6. from a medical standpoint, take it out....
  7. You'll be required to take it out, so you might as well do it before you go.
