Does anyone know where I can find good affordable health insurance?
I lost my job a few months ago along with the health insurance, does anyone know where a 24 year old guy, no health problems, etc can find a cheap but good health insurance company?

- not for health, but for prescriptions i used to use canada. i don't remember what the company was called but i am sure you can research it. they sent them in the mail for half the price! oh, i live in the u.s
- Google Assurant Health, and Golden Rule Insurance. Log onto their websites and search for a local agent. Or call the number listed and ask for the name and address of a local agent. Assurant has an excellent temporary health plan for up to one year, for people between jobs, etc. Best Wishes.
- Look at some of the links here to do some legwork before you buy. U.S. News & World Report also offers a Best Health Plan Search in conjunction with the National Committee for Quality Assurance that rates the quality of insurance plans. Stay away from short-term policies.
- ~~It all depends on what state you live in. You can go to www.ehealthinsurance.com and pick your state, than answer a few questions. It will give you different policies available and you can get an idea of the costs. You can then find an agent, or go through ehealthinsurance, or the insurance company directly to get set up.~~
- Do you want cheap, or good? A good, cheap high deductible plan is probably going to cost you around $100 a month. A low/no deductible plan, around $200 a month. That's just what it costs. You probably need to sit down wiht a local agent, who can help you balance coverage and cost to find a plan that YOU can afford.
- Find a broker to help you out and in the interim feel free to use the tool on my site. It'll compare the rates and plans in many states without the need divulging any personal information.
- YOu are not the only one who met this problem,I have met this type of problem before.I have good experience here http://www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info/free-online-health-insurance.htm to solve my similiar problem.
- Try this site http://yourfinance.co.cc/Insurance_health.html here you can get quotes from different companies in your area, this way you can find something good and affordable.
- Depending on the reason you lost your job/coverage, you may be eligible for the gov't subsidy that will allow you to keep your previous coverage. You pay 35% & the gov't pays the other 65%. Call the employers HR dept & ask.
- I would encourage you to visit this great website: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 6 years ago and they have saved me thousands on all health services. From my Doctor visits, Vision, Rx, Hospital Stays..etc. Even my extensive dental work. They even had my extremely affordable benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Hope this helps and good luck.
- I get my health insurance through State Farm which uses Assurant. I know they have really great short term plans that be as short as like 35 days, but up to a year and then be renewed after that. This might be the best option for you while you look for work. I like State Farm because I can go into the office and ask the employees for help rather than talking to someone online. I live around Chicago and my office's number is 888-323-7070, so if you don't live in Illinois you can find your local office online, but this is the number I use.
