Broken Hand And I Need A MRI Scan Help Please?

Okay so I need a mri scan on my hand next week thursday because I broke it and they ain't sure what bone I broke, so will I need just a hand scan or will I have to go in completely like a full body one? Any additional help is welcome I've already had a X-ray and they couldn't tell.

  1. X-Ray is good enough. No need for an MRI. Hopefully, the insurance company will reject this request. BTW, an MRI is more for tissue injuries whereas the x-ray is best for bones.
  2. It will only be your hand or arm and they will be able to check for soft tissue damage with the same scan. I also had one done for similar reasons, it takes around 1/2 hour and is nothing to worry about.
