Scan Medical Insurance

I am covered by Aetna student health insurance until August (just graduated). Will this cover bunion surgery?

There are podiatrists in my area listed as accepting Aetna student insurance. But I'm worried they'll try to say it's a pre-existing condition or find some other way to jip me out of using my insurance. I am one of the small percentage of the population essentially born with bunions (or an extreme tendency to develop them), and my right one has finally begun to hurt when I walk, and is swollen. I imagine I will need x-rays and surgery to correct this, and will probably get the other foot done as well to keep balance. Also, would I need to see a primary care physician first and get a referral to one of these podiatrists to make sure my insurance covers it?

1. No one can answer this - not even an employee of Aetna without your policy and/or group number because there are numerous different coverages in different policy groups. You have to contact your insurance carrier to discuss what exactly your policy states.
