Question about a health insurance application I'm applying for?
I'm filling out an application right now and is didn't ask me at all if I've been declined recently for health insurance..why is that? A few months ago I applied for health insurance with Humana and got declined because of a dizziness I had a year ago and went to the doctor for. Basically called an undiagnosed condition. On this application it doesn't ask anything about dizziness or if I've ever been declined for health insurance which is what I was worrying about, because I figured I would be declined again. Well I did have an agent and he helped me fill out my previous application that I got denied for. When I told him I got denied he told me to write an appeal letter. I did, and it didn't work. So I asked where do I go from here and he really hasn't called me or emaild me back so I got tired of him. So I'am currently looking for another one. I was trying to do it on my own. But according to everyone I need an agent. But if the agent on here would like to give me some valuable information that would be great!

- To answer your question with a knowledgeable answer, I would have to see the application. The app might ask questions like: When did you see a doctor last? What were the results of your visit? Or, Have you seen a doctor for anything else in the past 12 months? My question is this. Where did you get the application? Why isn't an agent filling it out? A licensed agent should fill out he application to make sure the questions are understood, and the correct answer is written down. Sometimes an agent will understand a question a different way than the applicant, because of training, unless the insurance company mailed you the application to personally fill out. EDIT: Google Assurant Health, or Golden Rule Insurance, then do a search for a local agent.
- ~~They may just request records from your primary doctor. Each ins. co. has their own application standards. If they don't ask, they don;t require the information. If you are concerned about it, talk to your agent. They would know how the company processes the applications. If you are at all concerned, then see if your agent wants a letter of explanation to accompany your app. I wouldn't worry about it personally, I would just complete the info they want.~~
- 1st off, get a new agent and discuss. my gut tells me that the prior agent knew you would be denied and wrote you off. also; what kind of insurance is this?? there are some policies out there that will insure everyone regardless of any pre-existing conditions, but the caveat is they dont cover anything or almost nothing, so in effect you have no insurance. they may only cover doctor visits, but if something serious, not covered. like i said, call a new agent and pose questions about this company and suggestions. when i completed an application, my agent did this with me. i had questions that sounded like i should say yes vs no. she explained that the correct answer was no. as for the dizziness, maybe able to answer in a way that they may cover you, but if worded differently could be denied. also; when you have been denied once, many companies wont touch you. get a new agent and have them advise you of your choices. good luck
