In June 08, I came out of the shower and noticed my foot felt 'funny'. When I looked down my right foot was swollen. I immediatly went to the doctor and they asked if I had injured it and asked me to rest it for a week or so. At the time, there was no pain and I had no recent injury. Last known injury was I rolled my ankle back in April. A few weeks later I went back to the doctor because my foot was still swollen. Here is a list of symptoms Swollon Foot and Toes (only the top of the foot) Foot is usually cold Foot swells up during warm showers (when under hot water) During showers, if I keep the foot out of water and elevated the veins appear 'wide' and the foot appears purple-ish. After standing for a bit (5-10mins) foot starts to turn red No Pain when walking or running Pitting occurs when pressure is applied to the swollon part When leg is elevated the swelling goes down (slightly) but not completely and I can feel cool fluid moving up my leg (toes are the only things that can lose swelling completely) When I push on the top part of my foot just above the toes it feels 'solid' or a bit 'hard' Currently I wear a prescriped compressive stalking. It keeps the swelling down ( a bit ) and the redness away but does not completely remove the selling. Doctors have run the following tests; Blood Test - Healthy no reason why it would cause swelling X-Ray of the foot and ankly - No issues Ultra Sound of my ankle, legs all the way up to my pelvic bone - No issues MRI - Injected die in my arm and did a full body scan - nothing found Sent to a vacular specialist - examine me for all of 2 minutes and said I had primary lymphedema. Concluded there is no 100% test but thats what I most likely have. I'm a 23 year old male. 5'11 135 LBS. Primary lymphedema seems quite unlickely because I spoke with a few people who have the condition and have seen me. The doctors seem clueless and my leg is still swollen (Will be exactly 1 year this June). I wear a stalking everyday but its extremely frustrating to have one normal foot and one balloon looking one. Swelling can be mild or extremely noticeable. Can anyone help shed light on what else I might have which the doctors probably should check? I keep balanced meals but they tend to be on the lighter side. I haven't run since it started swelling in fear I might do more damage, but I'll be picking up Jogging and soccer when the weather gets better. I also drink plenty of water. I'm a non-smoker who drinks (probably an average of once-twice a week, no more than 4 drinks total)
