supposedly it will be like canada's medical insurance where everyone gets free medical insurance, i'm not sure if it depends on your income or not but i hope he fallows through with it. even though i didn't vote for him this is the only thing i saw good in his campaign

I am not sure if any other 'major country' has anything but communist medicine. I am sure that NO socialized medicine system can touch the quality, quantity, and speed of delivery that our system does. Obama is a Marxist. His goal is to nationalize the medical field and give the government free access to everyones medical records. The implications include the erosion of our right to privacy, treatment based on availability and standing, denial of service when revenues cannot cover costs, and mandatory treatments for our own good.
to nationalize it completely, just like his plans for all health care. remember: a capitalist and free market health care system is what makes our healthcare so good. Obamas plan is to nationalize it so that "everyone is equal". Bull, how about working for the good things in life instead of relying on others hard earned money (via taxes) to pay for you. anyway, obama is a socialist, he wants socialism every where, health insurance is no exception.

Should you be able to choose to work hard to be able to afford a treatment that could save your life or should the government make that choice for you? You give up your power to control your fate by letting govt. decide it for you. They should focus on making healthcare affordable and break down the monopoly of the current system, not telling you, you can't work hard to make sure you'll get treatment instead of nothing at all, even when if they find themselves in the same situation THEY WILL break the rules.
He's said that he wants to use the present insurance system, but ramp it up so everyone is covered. Personally I think that the private insurance companies need to go belly up...way too much premium money goes to profit and not enough get people well. The right wing radio dummies are totally full of #$%^ on this one talking about socialized medicine and how the government is going to own the hospitals and put the doctors on the federal payroll....bogus!
